Scholarships and Special Needs

The NWFC shall award a maximum of ten scholarships of $2,000 each for students attending upgrading programs and undertaking post secondary education or training. The NWFC shall also award a maximum of ten scholarships of $2,000 each to students who are participating in special needs education programs. Recipients must be members of the Norman Wells Land Corporation / Tłegǫ́hłı̨ Got’įnę Government. In the case of minors who are not enrolled ; the parents or lawful guardians must be beneficiaries under the Agreement. The number of scholarships will be dependent on the annual budget approved by the board of director.

The Cecilia Tourangeau Scholarship Fund

This fund provides $200 a month financial assistance to any Norman Wells Land Corporation / Tłegǫ́hłı̨ Got’įnę Government member who is continuing or furthering their education. Proof of attendance is required.  Please contact our office in Norman Wells for more information.

VISION STATEMENT

We will achieve social and economic self-sufficiency for the Norman Wells participants of the Sahtú Dené and Métis Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement (SDMCLCA) through strong self-governance, fair access and benefit agreements, good long term financial management and sound investment in local infrastructure.
