The Norman Wells Renewable Resource Council (NWRRC) is set up through the Land Claims Agreement to represent the NWLC’s interest in the environment, wildlife and the outdoors. We have a seat on the Sahtú Renewable Resource Board that represents NWRRC regional interests in wildlife and wildlife habits.

The Sahtú Land and Water Board maintains close connections with NWRRC, inviting comments on development permits.  This relationship has been developed to keep all Sahtú Communities aware of Development Initiatives taking place.

Through funding initiatives such as On the Land Youth Projects, the Spring Fling and various Aboriginal Day events, the NWRRC promotes the benefits of spending time on the land. The NWRRC also provides Local Environmental information on development projects and exploration initiatives, as well as provides monitors that assist environmental studies and assessments.

Welcome to the website of the Ɂehdzo Got’ı̨nę Gots’ę́ Nákedı – the Sahtú Renewable Resources Board. Our Dene name means “Helpers of the Ɂehdzo Got’ı̨nę, the Trap People.” We work together with Ɂehdzo Got’ı̨nę in the five communities of the Sahtú Region to maintain Dene and Métis harvesting traditions, and keep the land and animals healthy for future generations.
